ST 第一课 – 明白见证的使命:福音传承

Purpose of this lesson

By understanding the background and characteristics of the Book of Acts, we can understand that God wanted to give the disciples the office of “making people know that Jesus, the Son of God, is the Christ” and to have them take on the ministry of the Kingdom of Heaven, to bear witness for the Lord to the ends of the earth.

Background introduction

The Gospels recount the life and deeds of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, on earth. At the end of each of the four Gospels, the promises of Jesus' presence and second coming are recorded. At the end of the Synoptic Gospels, the Lord gives the mission of the Gospel; in the last chapter of John, Peter is described as being commissioned three times to shepherd the Lord's flock. It is clear that the work of the Kingdom of Heaven did not cease with Jesus' ascension, but rather expanded further. Let us turn together to the Book of Acts to understand the process of the Gospel being spread throughout the world.
